Poor Weather
If the City of Colorado Springs closes operations due to weather:
• Technicians are on a volunteer basis.
• Any missed days must be made up on a Monday or Saturday within 1 month.
• Call Center team works full day remotely (to accept calls for following day schedule).
• Dispatch works remotely to reschedule and support volunteer techs.
• Hourly Support Staff is off work that day.
• Salaried employees will work remotely.
• Vendor Support Staff (i.e., HD Supply) must be notified by Purchasing Lead that we will be closed.
If the City of Colorado Springs announces a 2-hour delay due to weather:
• Technicians dispatch to first appointment directly from home.
• Call Center, Dispatch, and Management will work remotely for the first 2 hours, then they will stagger their commute to the office in order to maintain call coverage; order of precedence to be determined by managers.
• Salaried Support Staff will start work at the regularly scheduled time and are to arrive at the office no later than the adjusted start time in accordance with the 2-hour delay.
Emergency Closing
At times, emergencies such as severe weather, fires, or power failures can disrupt company operations. In extreme cases, these circumstances may require the closing of a work facility. The decision to close or delay regular operations will be made by the WireNut Home Services General Manager, Vice President or President. When the decision is made to close the office, employees will receive official notification from leadership.
