Company Vehicle Policy
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety of those individuals who drive company vehicles and to provide guidance on the proper use of company fleet assets. Vehicle accidents are costly to our company, but more importantly, they may result in injury to you or others. It is the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner and to drive defensively to prevent injuries and property damage. As such, the employer expects each driver to drive in a safe and courteous manner pursuant to the following safety rules and guidelines. Company vehicles may be employed for commuting purposes as deemed appropriate by Service Managers. Commuting in a company vehicle is to be considered a privilege and can be retracted at the discretion of the General Manager, Assets Manager, or Service Manager. Driver Guidelines and Reporting Requirements
1. Employees must have a valid Driver’s license and be listed on the company’s insurance to operate a company vehicle.
2. Company vehicles are to be occupied by authorized WireNut employees only, except in the case of mechanic testing a repair (this includes family, friends, and acts of kindness, i.e. providing a stranger a ride).
3. Company vehicles are to be driven by the properly assigned driver only. Unassigned drivers are not permitted to drive assigned or temporary vehicles without first informing the Fleet Lead to adjust vehicle records.
4. Any employee who has a driver’s license revoked or suspended shall immediately notify their Direct Manager and the Fleet Lead and immediately discontinue operation of the company vehicle.
5. Drivers must report all ticket violations received during the operation of a company vehicle within 72 hours to their Direct Manager and the Fleet Lead.
6. Wirenut Home Services is not responsible for paying fines incurred by employees, including secondary or consequential fines resulting from an infraction; it remains the sole responsibility of employees to pay fines and costs associated with fines received while driving company vehicles.

Behaviors include, but are not limited to, vehicle speed, acceleration and braking, and location. Safety and condition violations will adhere to the WireNut corrective action policy. 2. All cell phone/tablet use must be hands free; any other use requires that you pull over prior to utilizing your phone or tablet. 3. All drivers and passengers operating or riding in a company vehicle must wear seat belts, even if air bags are available. No passengers are permitted to ride in cargo areas, on top, or on the exterior, of the vehicle. 4. Drivers are responsible for the security of company vehicles assigned to them and accountability of company equipment, resources, and home depot, fuel cards. The vehicle engine must be shut off, ignition keys removed, and vehicle doors locked whenever the vehicle is left unattended. Accident Procedures
1. All accidents in company vehicles, regardless of severity, must be reported to your Direct Manager and the Fleet Lead (if neither are available, it must be reported to the Assets Manager). Accidents are to be reported immediately (from the scene, during the same day, unless there is an eminent safety concern, at which, point move to safety and then report the accident as instructed).
a. Police involvement will be determined by the Fleet Lead, Direct Manager, or the Assets
Manager.
b. Cameras are installed for driver and company protection. In the event of an incident, footage may be released for investigation purposes and may eliminate driver and company liability. Cameras are not to be manipulated by drivers for any purpose. Cameras which appear to have been tampered with (covered, turned, unplugged, etc) will result in a Fix-It Ticket and adopt the procedure which follows.
2. When an accident occurs, it is the driver's responsibility to obtain all pertinent information from the other party. Pertinent information to obtain includes:
a. The name and phone number of the other drivers and passengers.
b. License plate numbers of other vehicles involved.
c. Picture of insurance company names and policy numbers of other vehicles.
d. Picture of the other drivers’ license.
e. Make, model, and year of other vehicles.
f. Date and time of accident.
g. Pictures of overall road and weather conditions.
h. Pictures of the damage to all vehicles involved.

3. Only provide the other party with your name, address, driver’s license number, and insurance information. Drivers are not to admit fault or concede responsibility to other party, investigating authorities, or response teams. 4. Vehicle Maintenance
Proper vehicle maintenance is a basic element of any fleet safety program, not only to ensure a safe, road worthy vehicle, but also to avoid costly repair expenses and unexpected breakdowns.
1. Check the issued vehicle at least weekly to ensure fuel, tire pressure and all vehicle fluids (oil, coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, windshield wiper fluid, etc) and tire tread are at appropriate levels. If deficient, notify Fleet Lead for corrective measures to be coordinated. Similarly, it is your responsibility to ensure safety features such as headlights, brake lights, turn signals, and hazard signals function properly before operating the vehicle. Notify the Fleet Lead for corrective measures to be coordinated as necessary.
2. It is your responsibility to report when the vehicle is within 500 miles from a required oil change based on the mileage listed on the service sticker displayed in the windshield.
3. It is your responsibility to input the correct mileage from the odometer each time you fill the vehicle with fuel.
4. Report any damages or problems with your assigned vehicle to the Fleet Lead immediately through Vehicle & Fleet Requests Channel on Microsoft Teams. To include:
a. Brakes squealing.
b. Cracked windshield.
c. Any visible damage.
d. Any lights on the dashboard.
e. Any leaks, etc.
f. Failure of safety features
g. Items on the vehicle inspection form indicated “notify fleet”
5. It is your responsibility to ensure that the vehicle remains clean and organized (interior and exterior) at all times (reference the vehicle inspection form for guidance). A clean vehicle makes a good impression on customers as well as maintain our premium brand. This includes but is not limited to: a. Washing the vehicle weekly, or more frequently as deemed necessary by you or management. b. Cleaning the inside of the vehicle of all spills, dirt, and debris and ensuring proper organization and storage of truck stock. c. Maintaining safe conditions in the vehicle such as clean walkways, no heavy, sharp, or blunt items in the cab including but not limited to tools or materials. These could turn into projectiles in the event of a collision. d. Remove all trash from the vehicle daily.
6. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all company vehicles. Burnt tobacco (such as cigarette butts) must be disposed of in a sealed container to ensure that the vehicle and its contents do not smell like smoke. Smokeless tobacco alternatives, including but not limited to chewing tobacco and vaporizers, are to be stored in a manner which prevents discoloration or staining.
7. Audits will be randomly performed to always ensure top quality of all fleet vehicles. Failed audits will result in a Fix-It Ticket. Fit-It Tickets must be resolved by the end of the following business day, and the vehicle will be reinspected by both the Fleet Lead and their Direct Manager to be cleared.
a. Failure to resolve Fit-It Tickets will be reported to GM by the employee and the employee’s Management Team regarding why the correction was not made in time and receive an additional verbal counseling.
b. Two failed Fix-It Tickets will result in loss of commuter privileges and a written counseling.
c. Three failed Fix-It Tickets will result in termination due to repeated core value violations.
